It’s crazy around here right now
Posted by Jeromy (Doc)
We’re just a few days into April and already the Extra Life team is bustling about getting the site in order, planning for E3, and meeting with a lot of new potential partners.
We’ve already heard from a jaw-dropping pile of incredible gamers and organizations who are returning for 2012 to raise even more money for local kids this year. People like Catrina pictured above.
When Extra Life began in 2008, I never dreamed we’d have so much support from so many people. Since last year’s event I have received email from players all over the world with a marker in hand, and in search of which date to circle on their calendars for the 2012 event. We’ve decided on October 20th.
WHAT WE’RE UP TO RIGHT NOW
Right now, we’re focused on a couple of things, including a full site translation into Spanish. By the end of the month we hope that Joe, Megan, and Nick will have VidaExtra.org in full swing as we work to provide inclusion to Spanish speaking gamers around the world.
Clint and Miranda have been hard at work getting the social media side of Extra Life up to par. You can follow us on twitter now aith the handle @ExtraLife4Kids for official updates. Our Facebook page is also kicking out more content at http://facebook.com/SGExtraLife so go LIKE us if you... you know... actually LIKE us.
Meanwhile, over in the art shop, we've got Natalie and Mike knocking out project after project in the media kit, which you will find has been just about updated to 2012. (Apparently we put the date on a lot more stuff than we thought.)
We’re also working with Donor Drive, the folks who provide the fundraising software that Extra Life runs on, about ways to make the website easier to use while adding new features that you can really sink your teeth into.
For that reason, despite the fact that you’re reading this right now, we ‘re actually in sort of “soft launch” mode around here. We still have a lot to do.
Thanks for coming by early. Stick around. With your help, it’s going to be a great year.
